Kedzie to retire, Nass to run for 11th District

State Representative Steve Nass (R-Whitewater) announced today that he will run for the Wisconsin State Senate in the 11th District.  Rep. Nass will be running to replace retiring Senator Neal Kedzie (R-Elkhorn) who announced yesterday he plans to retire. The announcement came as a surprise as Kedzie had earlier filed for re-election.

Rep. Nass had announced previously that he would run for re-election in the Wisconsin State Assembly 33rd District but announced today he would run for the open Senate seat.

“Senator Kedzie is a close personal friend and I wish him the best in his future endeavors.  I will continue to fight for the middle class families and small businesses of the 11th Senate District.  I believe the next session of the Legislature will be a time to refocus on policies that strengthen Wisconsin’s middle class families,” Nass said.

The 11th Senate District includes parts of Walworth, Waukesha, Jefferson, Rock, Racine and Kenosha Counties.
