The Dodge County Sheriff’s Department arrested two town of Ashippun men on suspicion of drunken driving this week in two separate incidents.
According to a news release from the Sheriff’s Department, a 44-year-old man was driving west on Washington Road at about 7:51 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, when he lost control of his vehicle, which went into the ditch and rolled over.
The driver, who was the only person in the vehicle, had to be extricated by the Ashippun Fire Department. He was taken to Summit Aurora Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Authorities are seeking charges of fifth-offense drunken driving against the man.
In the second incident, a sheriff’s deputy on patrol observed a 1991 Ferrari driving 122 mph on Highway O in the town of Ashippun at about 1:18 a.m. Wednesday, July 16.
Joel Yochum, 28, was charged in Dodge County Circuit Court that same day with fourth-offense drunken driving, driving with a revoked license and bail jumping.
“These incidents are very concerning. Both could have ended tragically in serious crashes, putting the lives of other drivers at great risk,” Sheriff Patricia Ninmann said in the release.
