Swallow School hosts presentation and tour on Tuesday

Swallow School will host another presentation and tour on Tuesday, July 22 at 5:00 p.m. to inform the community about potential referendum costs.

The School Board will host a listening session immediately after the tour at 6:00 p.m. before its regularly scheduled board meeting.

Two design options are being considered for the district that is celebrating its 170th year.

Option 3B has a cost of $10.5 million and includes a second floor to the school on the east side of the building. Impact on taxpayers is estimated at an annual cost of 60 cents per $1,000 of assessed value.

Option 2A would cost $6.9 million and have a tax impact of about 85 cents per $1,000 of assessed value.

On July 15, two presentations and tours were given by Superintendent Melissa Thompson, Principal Kyle Moore and a representative from Plunkett Raysich Architects.
