The Shining City just disappeared.

 'I've spoken of the Shining City all my political life. …In my mind it was a tall, proud city built on rocks stronger than oceans, windswept, God-blessed, and teeming with people of all kinds living in harmony and peace; a city with free ports that hummed with commerce and creativity. And if there had to be city walls, the walls had doors and the doors were open to anyone with the will and the heart to get here. That's how I saw it, and see it still.'"  -  President Ronald Reagan

Those moving words from President Ronald Reagan have fallen on deaf ears and seem irrelevant today.  The election of November 6, 2012 just marked a turning point in  American history.  It now appears that many Americans are quite content in expecting the government to provide for them from birth until death.  We have reached that tipping point - where people ask not "what can I do for my country?" but instead "what can my country do for me?"  

With the re-election of one of the worst (if not THE worst) president in the history of our nation, we have sealed our fate.   Not much can be done for the time being.  Obamacare will become a frightening reality.  Fiscal irresponsibility will be the norm. Unemployment will rise yet again.   The military will become weaker.  America will become what the left desires - mediocre and rebuilt as another socialist France.    I do fear that things are going to get much worse in the days, months, and years to come.  The America we know and love may cease to exist.

We deserve the government we elect.
