U.S. general slain in Afghanistan laid to rest
Arlington, Va. - Maj. Gen. Harold J. Greene, the first United States Army general to die in an overseas conflict since Vietnam, was laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery on Thursday with full military honors.
"In life, he honored the flag. Today, the flag honors him," said Army Chaplain Jerry Owens at a graveside ceremony that followed a private funeral.
Greene, 55, who grew up in Guilderland N.Y., died on Aug. 5 when a gunman believed to be an Afghan soldier opened fire at U.S. personnel at an Afghan military academy near Kabul.
The insider attack wounded 15 other coalition troops, among them a captain serving as one of Greene's aides. The assailant was killed by Afghan security.
OK. Yet, guess what?
Yet, in the past week, Barack Hussein Obama took the time to:
2) Comment on the "racial"incidents in Ferguson, Missouri (blaming the police, of course, without having all the facts).
This is our "lead-from-the-behinder-in-chief" folks. A president who, taking yet another vacation while the world is in chaos (much of the chaos of Obama's own making), takes time away from the golf course to make glowing remarks about a troubled comic who killed himself AND a ginned-up "racial" incident in Missouri.
So....after all is said and done, the President of the United States cannot find the time to make any public statement on the death of a two-star general serving in the Middle East (oh sure, after a couple of days of blowback and outrage from the public and military regarding Obama's lack of response concerning the death of General Greene, Obama FINALLY mentioned the general very briefly ("Our prayers are with the Greene family as they are with all the Gold Star families," and calling Greene "dedicated") during a teleprompter speech at the Veterans Administration on August 7th. Compare that to the long tribute Obama gave to Robin Williams:
"Robin Williams was an airman, a doctor, a genie, a nanny, a president, a professor, a bangarang Peter Pan, and everything in between. But he was one of a kind. He arrived in our lives as an alien – but he ended up touching every element of the human spirit. He made us laugh. He made us cry. He gave his immeasurable talent freely and generously to those who needed it most – from our troops stationed abroad to the marginalized on our own streets. The Obama family offers our condolences to Robin’s family, his friends, and everyone who found their voice and their verse thanks to Robin Williams."
In addition, Obama continues to add fuel to the fire with his divisive, anti-police, anti-law comments regarding the "civil unrest" meaning looting (why is a black teenager's death reason to break store windows to steal a big screen television?), violence, and arson in Missouri right now. (Remember the last time Obama jumped in without knowing any facts and blamed police for "Gates Gate?" Remember how Obama had to save face by hosting a silly and very unpresidential "Beer Summit.?").
Obama IS a pathetic disaster - people! Face it. This "leader" wants nothing to do with what is happening in the world - the dangerous messes that are of his own making. He is disinterested. Disengaged. Could care less. If events interrupt his golf game, he gets pissed. If events disturb what HE wants to do, he gets pissed. Unless, of course, the events are "Hollywood-ish" or seem to be "the hot topic" to chime in on - the "thing" to stir the pot as Obama so loves to do. Remember the Obama Administration motto: "Never let a good crisis go to waste." C'mon people. How could anyone have voted for this total arrogant, self-centered loser and not feel buyers remorse except, of course, for the most rabid leftie nut jobs out there who still have this anti-American's back??
And when all is said and done, this poor excuse for a president cannot find a couple of minutes to make a statement to the public to pay tribute to a two-star general in Afghanistan. A two-star general committed to serving his country. A two-star general who GAVE HIS LIFE FOR HIS COUNTRY. Nope. Obama held out on this one for days, intentionally REFUSING to comment. Only after being forced to sort of acknowledge General Greene due to public outrage - in one flippant remark during a 'prompter speech - Obama tossed Greene's family a tiny bone. President Barry Hussein Obama would rather wax eloquent on the suicide of a troubled comedic actor and continue to do his part to stoke the "riot" flames pitting blacks against whites, encouraged by folks like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson in Missouri.
THAT SAYS IT ALL.
