Authorities at Stone Bank School in Oconomowoc announced that the school will be closed tomorrow because of mold.
A letter from Superintendent Phil Meissen confirmed there is "a possible health concern at Stone Bank School."
The letter says that a small amount of visible surface mold has been found in four classrooms and that air samples taken by Environmental Management Consulting (EMC), Inc. confirmed that mold levels "in some areas of the building warrant closing school on Friday, Sept. 3rd as a precautionary measure."
The superintendent says this is a precautionary measure taken to protect students and teachers with weak immune systems and to buy additional time to professionally clean the school over the long weekend.
The school is holding a meeting at 9 am tomorrow in the Commons, which the superintendent says is not affected by the mold, and school is to resume as scheduled next Tuesday.
