Dousman well repair costs still not determined

The Village of Dousman Department of Public Works (DPW) is still determining what it will cost to repair one of the village's two wells that stopped working on Tuesday, July 19 after a shaft broke.

So far the village has spent around $10,000 to pay for crews who were called to the scene, installation of a temporary pump, and for the old pump to be pulled apart, Utilities Superintendent Joe Kitelinger said.

DPW workers are in the process of determining what parts of the broken shaft can be salvaged and reused.
