Ixonia parents to be surveyed

District administrators announced tonight that they will investigate the possibility of sending only one class of fourth grade students to Nature Hill Intermediate School next year to deal with the overcrowding issues at the school.

Initially, school leaders planned on recommending to the School Board that both classes move to the school to meet upcoming classroom needs. In the hybrid plan, parents would be surveyed to see if they would prefer their student remain at Ixonia or move to the intermediate school. If numbers, and other factors, incuding gender and students needs, are balanced, then the school would move its computer lab into the library to open a classroom for one section of fourth grade students.

Superinendent Dr. Pat Neudecker will present the option at the Board of Education meeting Tuesday night, along with the  costs of all the options investigated. The Board is expected to vote on the issue at that time.
