Parents of current third grade students at Ixonia School will be receiving a district survey in which they will be asked to state whether they would prefer to keep their child at Ixonia next year, or move them to Nature Hill Intermediate School.
Due to high enrollment numbers, Ixonia School will be short two classrooms next year. District officials planned on recommending that both sections of fourth graders be moved to the intermediate school. However, in light of some parent concerns, Superintendent Dr. Pat Neudecker said she would survey parents to see if there would be a balance in choices. There must be a near-equal number of students requesting both options for the grade to be split, and that balance will include gender and student educational needs. The Oconomowoc School Board voted in favor of the Superintendent's recommendation.
However, if balance is not found through the surey, the issue will come back before the Board for further discussion.
