Delafield Arts Center hosts Wisconsin Visual Artists

When we think of art, we might think of the Louvre, the Metropolitan Museum of Art or even the Milwaukee Art Center.

But there are artists all over the world – whose works are worthy of being seen publicly – including a thriving arts community in Wisconsin, many of whom are members of the Wisconsin Visual Artists.  And Lake Country has a fine venue of its own to showcase their talents – the Delafield Arts Center.

The public will get the opportunity to meet WVA artists and see their creativity at an opening reception of their exhibit from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Delafield Arts Center, 803 Genesee St., Delafield.

Formerly the Wisconsin Painters and Sculptors, the WVA is the oldest professional art organization in the state. If began in 1913 as the Society of Milwaukee Artists.

Mark Lawson, director of galleries at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design, will be the juror for the show which runs through May 13.
