When someone says they’re cooking a nutritious meal we might figure it’s not going to taste good. But food that’s good for you can taste good, too.
This Saturday, top chefs and top doctors in the area will demonstrate how to make nutritious and delicious meals designed to fight chronic illness at the 2nd Annual Harvest for Your Health at NuGenesis Farms in Pewaukee.
The event is from 3:30 to 7 p.m. Saturday under the white tents at NuGenesis Farm with the Good Harvest Secret Pizza Garden as a backdrop.
Master of ceremonies for the evening is County Executive Dan Vrakas. Dr. Stan Markus and the Milwaukee Guitar Quartet will entertain.
“We really stepped up this year,” said Kathy Bero, founder and president of NuGenesis. “No one is going to want to miss this pizza picnic with a punch.”
The family event features NuGenesis Farms nutrient –rich signature foods of soup and pizza with simple sides and irresistible desserts.
“Everyone will leave with full bellies, smiles on their faces and new ideas on how to tweak their meal plans at home,” said Executive Director Teresa Monaghan.
Using food as medicine, NuGenesis Farms teaches how to make informed choices that will lead to better health, reduced health care costs and help secure a sustainable community.
Tickets for the event are $75 for adults and $5 for children.
All proceeds support NuGenesis Farm’s education and research programs.
