Palmyra-Eagle district heading to referendum vote

Palmyra-Eagle Area School District

After nearly two years of studying district needs and a comprehensive facilities study in 2010, Palmyra-Eagle Area School District readies for two referendum questions on Nov. 6 asking for more funds to maintain programs and services as well as borrowing funds for much-needed facilities projects.

An operational referendum will ask for $430,000 per year for four years, starting next school year, while a second referendum question will ask residents to allow the district to borrow funds for $6.45 million in facilities projects over a 20-year period with technology upgrades repaid in five years.

District Administrator Glenn Schlender has talked to numerous community groups, sign boards have been posted throughout the district with information on the referendum questions and open houses will provide tours of the two elementary schools. The first school tour will be Tuesday, Oct. 23 from noon to 2 p.m. at Eagle Elementary School. Other tours and open houses will be held Oct. 24 and 29 at Eagle Elementary and Palmyra Elementary.

Details regarding the two referendum questions are listed on the PEASD website. Read the complete story in the Oct. 24 Mukwonago Chief.
