It was a Christmas miracle for an Oconomowoc family that narrowly escaped disaster during an alleged attempted terrorist attack on an airplane landing in Detroit Dec 25.
The Keepman family, including Charlie, his wife Scottie and daughter Rikki were aboard the flight, returning home from Africa with two children, aged 6 and 8, whom they are adopting. The family is expected to return to Africa to get a 10-year-old sibling of the children.
According to a friend of the family, the young children remained calm during the ordeal.
"They were so excited for their plane ride. They weren't scared of all the commotion--they thought that was part of what happened on a plane ride. They were laughing. We kept them calm," Rikki said.
