After meeting in closed session for 90 minutes, the Oconomowoc School Board did not make a decision on the offer to purchase the former middle school facility from Gorman and Company. Terms of the offer were not disclosed
District officials are awaiting the results of an evaluation being performed by Oliver Construction on the facility before coming to terms on the future of the property.
The report will provide the district with information relating to the costs of demolition, asbestos abatement and what determine part of the structure can be retained for useage.
"We're hoping that by Feb. 17, we'll have the information on those three options to make a decision to address an offer on the property, raze or use the building for district purposes," said Board President Don Wiemer.
The City has granted conceptual approval to Gorman & Company for a project that would renovate the former school into mixed use residential space. The plan calls for 60 lofts, office space and an exercise room among other amenities.
