Hartland gas prices hit $2.69

Gas prices in Hartland hit a longtime low of $2.69 per gallon Friday morning when Mike Badani's Hartland Citgo Village Mart dropped its price under $2.70. Badani's station was the first in the Lake Country to drop to $2.69. The price last year at this time was a hefty $3.79 per gallon. Gas prices around the country are hitting four-year lows. Prices in South Carolina and Mississippi are at $2.39 per gallon this week.

Dangerous driving conditions in Lake Country

Roads throughout the Lake Country area are snow covered and very slippery, due to about three inches of snow. The Highway 16 eastbound ramp in Hartland at Maple Avenue to Highway 16 was closed as of 5:30 p.m. due to a car in the ditch. On Highway K westbound there were 2 cars in the ditch just west of Richmond School. Just outside of Richmond School a young female driver went into the ditch at 4 p.m. Her care was still there a 5:45 p.m. Another van was in the ditch in Hartland on Merton Avenue one-quarter mile north of Highway 16. Traffic on Highway 16 in Hartland was going 25 miles per hour at the most.
