Getting ready for the holidays comes with its share of stress. So when it comes to fixing the Christmas meal, instead of spending precious time planning, grocery shopping, cooking and baking, why not leave the cooking to the professionals? You’ll have more time for your guests.
Sausage Haus, 523 N. Oakwood Ave., Oconomowoc (262) 567-3354
“Preparing family meals is a big part of our business starting as early as Dec. 20. We are closed on Christmas Day, but orders can be picked up until 2:00 p.m. on Christmas Eve,” says Jesse Jerabek, the owner’s son.
Great meal spreads might include: Turkey and gravy, lasagna, pork crown roast or its best-seller: sliced beef and gravy. Choose from five or six different potato sides or macaroni and cheese. Include a salad, and top it off with some homemade bakery goods.

Besides offering pans of turkey or beef with gravy, Gyros West has appetizers, fruit platters, sandwich trays, meat and cheese platters, Greek salads and seasonal pies.
“We try to accommodate any specialty item that the customer may be looking for,” Haideman adds. Closed Christmas Day, pickup can be arranged up to 3 p.m. Christmas Eve.

Take a break from traditional fare and consider serving Asian cuisine.
“One can order anything on our regular menu for takeout, but the most popular items are chicken and noodle dishes or our very impressive sushi platters,” says Sue Virasith, owner. “We ask for at least one day lead time to prepare for larger orders, and we will be open Christmas Day from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m.”
