Rec gift cards

Don’t know what to buy your grandchild, niece, nephew, secret Santa or any hard-to-shop-for person on your list? The Oconomowoc Park and Rec Department has gift cards available, which can be used to sign up for fitness classes, take swim lessons, take Jr. Robotics Class or a number of activities the department offers. Purchasers can choose the amount of monetary value on gift cards.

Create a robot

The Bricks 4 Kidz Jr. Robotics camp for grades one to four will turn children's Lego creations into robots programmed to follow commands. Kids will have fun building with Legos, but will also learn how to computer program. In this fun, action-packed class, children will delve into the world of computer programming. Camp meets from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Mondays, Jan. 2, to Feb. 20. Cost: $135/resident; $160/nonresident.


Ages 3 to 5 will learn the game of kickball while developing basic skills, such as base running, catching, throwing and teamwork. Class meets from 8:30 to 9:15 a.m. Saturdays, Jan. 7, to Feb. 11. Cost: $30/resident; $45/out of district.


Players in kindergarten through fourth grade will learn the basics of basketball through various drills. Mini-games will be played to help learn the fundamentals. Class meets Saturday mornings, Jan. 7 to Feb. 11.

Preschool enrolling

Three- to 4-year-olds will have the opportunity to make friends while they engage in independent learning and play time in Early Childhood Learning and Recreation classes. The classes are offered in two-day-a-week sessions on Monday-Wednesday or Tuesday-Thursday, from 9 a.m. to noon. A Friday option is also available.

You can also add on Preschool Art and Preschool Playtime. Next semester is Jan. 9, through April 28.
