Emmaunuel UCC anniversary 

After the 9:30 a.m. service Sunday, March 26, Emmanuel United Church of Christ, W36821 Sunset Drive, Dousman, will celebrate its 130th anniversary. All are invited for food, games and general merrymaking.  Emmanuel United Church of Christ was founded in March 1887 as Union Immanuel Congregational Church. It was incorporated with nine charter members in April that year.

WINC volunteer orientation

The Wildlife In Need Center, W349 S1480 S. Waterville Road, will hold an adult volunteer orientation at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 30. WINC is seeking commitments to work one 4 1/2-hour shift each week for about eight weeks. Those interested will also need to fill out a volunteer application and release, which can be downloaded fromwww.helpingwildlife.org/become-a-volunteer. Those interested in volunteering should fill out the form and RSVP by calling 262-965-3090.

Men Who Cook

About 35 tickets are left for St. Bruno’s Parish’s annual Men Who Cook Dinner and Auction from 5 to 10 p.m. Saturday, April 1. This is the parish's largest fundraiser of the year. Join in for a meal, and lots of silent and live auction items. Cost for tickets is $50/person and are available from the school office, 246 W. Ottawa Ave. Dousman, 262-965-2291.  All funds from the live and silent auctions go toward St. Bruno’s School.  For more information, contact Karen Hoffmann at Karenkayhoffman@gmail.com.

Spring Swing Dinner Dance

The Sophal Project will hold a Spring Swing Dance and Dinner at the Dousman/Ottawa Lions Community Center, 235 N. Main St., Dousman, beginning at 5:30 Saturday, April 1.

Dick Strauss and the Many Happy Returns Orchestra will provide the music for the evening. There will also be a silent auction and a dance competition. The event will be catered by Cornerstone Restaurant.

Allp proceeds benefit the Sophal Project, educating the children of Kompon Thom Province, Cambodia. Tickets are $30 in advance or $35 at the door. Tickets are available at Cornerstone Restaurant or contact Jon Greybeard at jongreybeard@gmail.com or 262-968-2679.

Run and bike

Registration is open for Lad Lake’s annual Kettle Classic Run and Bike. The event will take place at the Dousman campus, W350 S1401 Waterville Road,on Saturday, June 17. The day will include biking, running, walking and more, along with children’s and family activities including face-painting and games. Activities will be followed by a barbecue, fellowship and a chance to meet residents and staff.

Dousman's 100th

Dousman's 100th anniversary dinner, 5:30 p.m. Saturday, March 25, at the Dousman/Ottawa Lions Community Center, 235 N. Main St., Dousman. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with a cash bar and a buffet dinner to follow at 6:30 p.m.Cost: $15 per person.
