Class of 2024 parents and guardians: Write a letter to your child in the Journal Sentinel

Alec Johnson
Milwaukee Journal Sentinel

MILWAUKEE - With June just two months away, it won't be long before parents of high school seniors will be preparing for their children to graduate and move onto the next phase of life.

With such an important occasion approaching, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel wants to give parents, caregivers, family members and friends the opportunity to share their appreciation of these students' accomplishments. To show this appreciation, we're asking for short letters written to graduates to be submitted for consideration to be included in the Journal Sentinel.

Here's how to submit a letter to your student to be featured in the Journal Sentinel

Any person with a 2024 high school graduate from any public, private or homeschool setting in the greater Milwaukee area can participate. Fill out this Google Form or email alec.johnson@jrn.com with the following information:

  • Your graduate's first and last name,
  • The name of their school and school district,
  • A photo in JPEG format of your graduate, either current or from when they were younger,
  • The names of all those included in the photo,
  • Explicit permission for the Journal Sentinel to publish the photo,
  • A letter to your graduate that is no more than 200 words, signed by the writer.

Submissions that don't include all the necessary information will not be considered for publication. Submit your letter by May 15.
