For the 19th consecutive year, Rock River Lanes in Fort Atkinson will host a Nine-Pin Tap Scotch Doubles Bowling Fundraiser to benefit Rainbow Hospice Care. The Jefferson County Board of Realtors will sponsor the event again this year. There will be a single shift available to bowlers starting at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, with check-in beginning at noon.
The entry fee is $30 per couple, shoe rental is not included.
Each team will be made up of two bowlers who will bowl a four-game set. Bowler 1 will roll the first ball in the first and third games while their partners will roll to pick up the spares. In games two and four, bowler 2 will roll first and then bowler 1 will throw for spares.
In a Nine-Pin Tap event, nine pins on the first ball are scored as a strike. Bowler handicaps will be based on current league averages, but non-league bowlers can be easily included and are encouraged to participate. Top teams receive cash prizes. Space is limited and reservations are encouraged.
To register, call (920) 563-2657 extension 224 or email Cindy Staude at: email@example.com
A Texas Hold ’em Poker Tournament also will be held in the Party Room at Rock River Lanes. Registration begins at 11 a.m. and the game will start at noon. Play will get under way when registration is completed. The “buy in” for the Poker Tournament is $20.
Questions and early sign-ups should be directed to Rick at 920-222-4444.
“We really want to pack the lanes this year,” said Denise Sponem, event chairwoman for the Jefferson County Board of Realtors. “Our goal is to top last year’s total of $9,212. We promise to make it a fun afternoon for everyone who participates.”
The event committee is actively seeking raffle and silent auction items. These raffle tickets make excellent stocking stuffers.
“Last year we had nearly 100 winners in the raffles and auction,” said Sponem. “We’d welcome prize donations from area businesses to support the event.”
