At the recent Historical Society meeting, Doug Neumann was honored as the Jefferson Historical Society's Friend of the Museum for 2016.
Doug graduated from JHS in 1962 and eventually moved to Madison . He first visited the museum to research Jefferson ancestors on his family tree. From his interest in genealogy and his roots in Jefferson, he soon became a museum volunteer.
Though he lives in Madison, Doug traveled to Jefferson two to three times a week to help where needed. His activities have included researching high school sports teams, researching and finding items from the old Meadow Springs Golf Course, setting up displays, and helping with tour groups. His largest project was to obtain and help set up the Museum's new security system in November. All areas of the museum can now be watched on a monitor whenever the museum is open. He is also a member of the museum board.
Doug has been a dependable, conscientious member of the historical society over the past year and deserves recognition for his hard work.
