Bring a friend and spend some time coloring, relaxing and chatting from 5 to 7:30 p.m. May 10, and from 9 a.m. to noon Friday, May 12.
Participants can also make a craft (magnet for mom) on both days for Mother’s Day.
Bug Day is set for 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 8. Come celebrate all things bug with crafts and activities for all ages.
SHELF Teen Social
Students in sixth grade and older are invited to join the library's volunteer group at 4 p.m. Wednesday, May 10. This month, the group will honor the local police force.
Join other enthusiasts and test yourPokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh gaming skills from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 13. Bring your own cards or borrow from the library.
Summer hours at the library will begin May 30 and continue until Sept. 1. The library will be open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Fridays and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays. The library will be closed the following holidays: Memorial Day weekend, May 27-29; Independence Day, July 4; and Labor Day weekend, Sept. 2-4. Mark your calendars for the beginning of the children’s and adult’s summer reading programs at the library starting June 5.
Friends of the Library
The newly organized Friends of the Jefferson Public Library is looking for members. If you join during the May book sale, you may select one regular price book from the sale as a "thank you." The group is focused on assisting and enhancing the mission of the library and fundraising for special projects.
View PBS documentary “Being Mortal,” 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 13. This 50-minute program deals with end-of-life issues and is adapted from the book, “Being Mortal” by Dr. Atul Gawande. Dr. Richard Hansen will lead a discussion after the film.
Story time, 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 10. Activities are designed for ages 3-5.
