Dousman gets into the holiday spirit this weekend, as both Santa and the Polar Express roar into town.

Events are planned throughout the day, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4.

The day kicks off with a model railroad exhibit at the Dousman Masonic Lodge on Main Street from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. A slide show and railroad talk will take place at 1, 2 and 3 p.m. Cookies and hot chocolate will be available.

From noon to 3 p.m., enjoy chili or soup at area businesses -- and vote for your favorites.

Carolers will set the tone for the day, singing Christmas songs at various locations along Main Street.

Village hall, 118 S. Main St., transforms into the Polar Express Depot from noon to 3:30 p.m. Free trolley rides will be available on Main Street. Hot chocolate and cookies will be available at the the depot at village hall.

All of that just leads up to the big event: the arrival of Santa at the Lions Club Community Center on Main Street. The jolly old elf is scheduled to swing into Dousman at 4:30 p.m.
