Village of Hartland -- A Hartland woman helped Lake Country School receive a grant from Northwestern Mutual Thursday, Dec. 1.

Stefanie Hart was one of those chosen to receive a grant from the Northwestern Mutual Foundation, which acknowledges organizations that enhance the quality of life in the Milwaukee community. It awards 25 local organizations through its Days of Sharing program with $1,000 to $10,000 grants on behalf of Northwestern Mutual employees for a total of $225,000 in grants.

“At Northwestern Mutual, giving back is a part of our culture so we are fortunate to have employees who are dedicated to strengthening their local communities,” said Eric Christophersen, president of the Northwestern Mutual Foundation. “The Days of Sharing program is a way we recognize their volunteer service for the worthy organizations in which they are personally involved.”

Hart, who's three children attended Lake Country School, said she's always admired the selfless commitment of the teachers and staff.

“They are dedicated to ensuring a positive, nurturing experience for all of their students, inspiring them to reach their highest potential through activities beyond the core academic classes such as STEM initiatives, arts and athletics," Hart said in an email. "I’m excited that the grant funds I was awarded by Northwestern Mutual will be put toward the continued support (of) this environment.”
