Outdoor performance venue SummerStage announced the schedule for its 11th season this summer.
SummerStage is set in the Lapham Peak Unit of the Kettle Moraine State Forest in Delafield.
The lineup includes three classic plays for the organization’s Broadway Series, eight Music Series concerts spanning multiple music genres and three family events. All family events will be free.
Additionally, SummerStage announced a new Chamber Music Series on selected Sunday evenings.
SummerStage will also offer TheatreCamps. Each one-week long camp features intensive theater education for children. SummerStage will partner again with Sudbrink Performance Academy to also offer one week of Musical TheatreCamp.
The theme of the 2017 Broadway Series is “The Ties That Bind.” Each of the classic plays revolve around long-lasting relationships with others based on birth, marriage, friendship or shared situations. Tickets for each show are $20 for adults, $18 for seniors and students and $10 for youth.
“Little Women” by John Ravold and Louisa M. Alcott, directed by Diane Powell, will show at 7:30 p.m. June 8-24, Thursdays through Saturdays.
“Present Laughter” by Noël Coward, directed by Brian D. Zelinski, will show July 20 to Aug. 5, at 7:30 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays.
“Romeo and Juliet” by William Shakespeare, adapted and directed by Dustin J. Martin, will show at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 24-Sept. 9,Thursdays through Saturdays.
The Music Series tickets cost $17 for adults, $15 for seniors and students and $8 for youth. All shows are at 6:30 p.m., with the following dates: June 3, Party in the Park with Funhouse (classic rock); July 8, Wheelhouse (Americana bluegrass); July 14, British Rock n' Roll Invasion with Shattered & Substitute (British rock); July 15, Devil in the Outhouse (Americana, roots rock, folk); Aug. 11, A Night with Tony (Broadway musical songs), Aug. 12, Lake Country Swing (big band sound), Aug. 19, Whiskey Belles (country, Americana, bluegrass), Sept. 16, Reverend Raven (classic blues).
Chamber Music Series
Chamber Music Series tickets cost $17 for adults, $15 for seniors and students and $8 for youth, with the following dates: June 18, Wisconsin Philharmonic; July 23, Milwaukee Musiak; July 8, Graminy (classical bluegrass).
The family series events are free, and are: July 8, magic/illusionist show with Glen Gerard; June 30, “The Comedy of Errors” by William Shakespeare with Summit Players (Fun with Shakespeare Workshop precedes the show.); July 25, Kohl’s Wild Theater “The Tale of Two Hemispheres.”
Youth Musical TheatreCamp is offered for ages 8-14, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, June 12-16.
Youth TheatreCamp dates are: ages 8-11, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, July 31-Aug. 4; and ages 12-14, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, Aug. 7-11.
