Schoolhouse Players in Hartland, a nonprofit amateur theater group, has invited individuals 18 and older to join the group for the 2017-18 play season.
No theater experience is needed, "just a willingness to spark children’s imagination through story," according to a news release.
SHP meetings are held the first Tuesday of every month, September through May, except for January (when plays are being prepared) and February (when plays are being presented). Those interested can attend a meeting and meet the players and explore opportunities available on stage and behind the scenes, including acting, costuming, creating scenery and stage management.
To learn more about SHP, like the group's Facebook page or contact membership chairperson Deb Nollen at 262-369-5340 or email SHP at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Additional information is also available at www.schoolhouseplayers.org.
SHP members met to socialize and plan for the upcoming 2017-18 play season April 11.
Since 1953, SHP has produced plays to educate and fascinate elementary school-aged children with stories of courage, companionship, trials and triumphs. This year’s performance of “The Emperor’s New clothes” gave live theater experiences to over 2,000 elementary children in 17 schools throughout Waukesha County and beyond.
SHP will celebrate the conclusion of its 2016-17 season with a luncheon at Chenequa Country Club May 2.
