The Waukesha County Department of Parks and Land Use will hold its annual spring sale and workshop event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 29, Retzer Nature Center, S14 W28167 Madison St., Waukesha.
Participants will have the opportunity to attend free sustainable gardening workshops. Workshops will which teach homeowners how to plant native gardens that will attract and sustain pollinators like bees and monarch butterflies, make and use your own compost, decrease storm water runoff and save money by reducing water use and maintenance costs.
Home compost bins, rain barrels and a variety of native plants will be for sale in limited quantities on a first-come, first-served basis.
Cash or check payment is preferred, but Visa, MasterCard, and American Express will be accepted.
Parks and Land Use staff and UW-Extension Master Gardeners will be available to answer questions on natural landscaping and identifying plant samples, provide gardening tips and the basics about home composting and using rain barrels.
