Two men have been arrested after leading police on a car chase that ended in Amato Ford in Mukwonago.

According to a press release from the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department:

Police pursued a vehicle from Illinois into Wisconsin, entering Waukesha County at about 11:30 a.m.Jan. 19. The chase ended a short time later at Amato Ford in Mukwonago.

Law enforcement officials were notified by the Waukesha County Communication Center that officers from the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office and the Rockford, Illinois, Police Department were in pursuit of a silver Chrysler Crossfire and were entering Waukesha County.

A news release from the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department said one of the occupants in the vehicle is a suspect in a homicide in Illinois.

The release said two men were in the car, one age 26 and one 27, both from Illinois.

The vehicle exited Highway 83 in Mukwonago, traveled through Mukwonago and ended up in the parking lot at Amato Ford, 1015 Main St. The driver of the vehicle fled into the dealership and was taken into custody a short time later. The passenger stayed in the vehicle and was taken into custody.

The release said the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department will seek charges against the driver, including for eluding and other traffic-related offenses. Both men have been turned over to the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office for consideration of other charges.

No one was injured as a result of this incident.

The investigation is ongoing; no other information is available at this time.
