The Letter Carriers’ Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive takes place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 13, and the Mukwonago Food Pantry is looking for volunteers.
According to the the National Association of Letter Carriers website, the food drive takes place in more than 10,000 cities and towns across America to raise awareness of the issue of hunger.
There are 15 routes to pick up ahead of the mail carrier. Drivers are needed as well as a truck/van to transport food. Several volunteers will be at the food pantry to unload and sort food.
For people interest in donating items, put out non-perishable food before your letter carrier’s normal pick-up time.
The postal worker will be doing his/her normal routes, on top of collecting food donations, so that pickup time could be slightly later than usual.
If you are interested in volunteering or have questions call the Mukwonago Food Pantry at 262-363-3452.
