CITY OF OCONOMOWOC - The common council on Tuesday will vote on a major design review for Eagle's Landing, the multi-use building that has been proposed at the site of the former Spinnakers Lakeside Dining.

Developer Mark Neumann has proposed a five-story residential and commercial building at the site that will include space for a restaurant as well as a meeting space for the American Legion, which now operates in the former Spinnakers building. The building will include 21 condo units.

If approved, Neumann plans to begin construction this spring, according to documents filed with the city's planning department.

"The project will be a tremendous addition to the city's downtown," city planner Jason Gallo wrote in a recommendation of the project. "For years, downtown studies identified a lack of residents within the heart of the downtown, and this project will attract additional residents to the area."

The common council will also vote on awarding a contract to the developer of the Fowler Lake waterfront project.

The meeting is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. in the council chambers on the second floor of city hall, 174 E. Wisconsin Ave.
