To kick off its 10th anniversary season, the OAC presents a concert featuring The Differentials from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Saturday, July 15, on the OAC’s Main Stage.
Featuring the talents of Tom Spolar, Mark Wanezek, Brian Leahy (of Leahys Luck), David Kennedy (of Tallymoore), Ron Beckman and Tyler Famularo, the band plays a selection of the iconic music of the '60s and ‘70s, including a new Eagles and other rock n’ roll legends tribute set.
“The Differentials are a unique cover band from the Milwaukee area that captures the very essence of the music of the '60s and '70s, especially their heartfelt renditions of the Eagles’ music. When I first heard them in early May, the crowd was on their feet long before the concert’s end,” said OAC director Michael Duncan.
Band members are excited to be part of the celebration.
"The Differentials are looking forward to performing at the OAC’s 10th anniversary kickoff. I know Oconomowoc residents embrace the facility and its operations as the crown jewel of their community" Leahy said. "Everything from top to bottom is run at a professional level."
The concert is a fundraising event for the OAC. General seating tickets are $10. For information about the band, visit www.thedifferentialsband.com and www.facebook.com/TheDifferentials.
The community is invited to help celebrate a new season with the annual OAC open house Saturday, July 15. Sponsored by Fox Brothers Piggly Wiggly, the event will offer a free cookout on the outdoor patio from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The OAC Box Office will be open from 6 to 9:30 p.m. with discounts on ticket purchases for the 10th anniversary season.
There will also be live entertainment featuring OHS theater director Tom Klubertanz and OHS history teacher Andy Zietlow, who will perform with their acoustic-electric folk renditions of contemporary pop and rock favorites on the Tri-Clubs Plaza outdoor patio.
A variety of local arts, community and school organizations will be on hand in the OAC lobby, and the first visual arts series art exhibit for the season will debut with original works of art by Wisconsin watercolorist Pat Rodell. The exhibit will be featured in the OAC art gallery through Aug. 19.
“The 10th anniversary is a very special milestone for the OAC, school district and community. It is a clear and ringing testament to the power of the arts in our community and the difference it makes for all of us,” said Duncan.
