CITY OF OCONOMOWOC - The third annual Lake Country Fest with music, food and family entertainment is scheduled for this weekend.
The three-day event, which begins at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 10, and goes until the night of Saturday, Aug. 12, is held to raise money for items needed at the park, such as baseball dugouts, said event founder and organizer Tim Steidl.
The event is held at Stone Bank Community Park, W335 N6983 Stone Bank Road, Oconomowoc.
Musical guests include Cherry Pie at 8 p.m. on Aug. 10 and The Boogie Men at 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 11. On Saturday, Re-Rack will play at 12:30 p.m., Augusta Ray at 4 p.m. and ZZ Top cover band Eliminator will play at 6:30 p.m. Saturday's headliner is The Mantz Brothers.
The festival will offer food and hard and soft drinks for purchase, Steidl said.
Thursday night and all day Saturday, there will be a men's softball tournament. Saturday will feature a bags tournament beginning at 1 p.m., Steidl said. Organizers are still looking for participants to sign up. For information, email email@example.com. Girls and boys rugby games will be held at about 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Children's activities will also be available, Steidl said.
“We're going to have face painting, balloons for kids," he said. "There will be lots of kids activities.”
