Shocking surveillance video shows a parent punch a student in the stomach at a Washington, D.C. school, and then walk away.

In the video, taken at KIPP DC Spring Academy in Washington D.C. last week, an unidentified man is seen walking down a hallway when he spots seven-year-old John Mclean, CNN reports.

The man reaches down and punches John in the stomach and then keeps walking, even after the seven-year-old drops to his knees in pain.

John’s mother Lena Mclean requested the video from the school after her son told her a schoolmate’s parent hit him in the hallway, WJLA-TV reported.

Lena said she’s never had a problem with the man who hit her son.

“You don’t bully a child, you don’t torment a child,” Lena told WJLA.  “I wouldn’t do that to you. I wouldn’t do that to none of your kids. I’ll feel much better when he is locked up.”

According to WJLA, a police report was filed, and police are investigating the incident.

The school sent a letter to parents on Friday, reiterating that the school's top priority is the safety of the students.

The man has not been arrested, according to WJLA.
