A big crew of former Lake Country area high school football players are still alive in the NCAA Division III national playoffs for both the University of Wisconsin Whitewater and UW-Oshkosh.

Whitewater (12-0) will play this Saturday at home against John Carroll at noon. Oshkosh (11-1) will play St. Thomas (Minnesota) this Saturday. With wins, the two teams would meet the following week in the national semifinal.

At Whitewater, Matt Seitz (Arrowhead) is a starting linebacker and is tied for the team lead in tackles with 58. He also has six tackles for losses.

Other locals on the Whitewater roster are Justin Prostinak of Lake Country Lutheran, Julio Perez of Kettle Moraine, Xavier Straub and Jamison Cook of Pewaukee and Canton Larson of Oconomowoc. Larson has 23 receptions and six touchdown catches

At Oshkosh, Dom Todarello (Arrowhead) is enjoying a good season at wide receiver. He has 37 receptions, including six touchdowns.

Others playing for Oshkosh are Taylor Ripplinger, Nick McQuestion, Austin Haase, Mitchell Berghs and Peyton Peterson of Arrowhead and Aaron Cramer of Oconomowoc.
