Tucked away in the canyons of Branson, Tiger Woods announced a new 18-hole public golf course at the Big Cedar Lodge Resort.

  • “Payne’s Valley” will honor the late Payne Stewart.
  • It will be the first public golf course Woods' TGR Design firm will handle. Woods said the beauty of the land is what drew him to the project. “My job is to not screw this up,” Woods said.
  • The course should open in two years. Woods and Bass Pro Shops CEO Johnny Morris said the target date for the completion of the course is 2019.
  • The course should provide value to golfers. Johnny Morris didn’t talk about the greens fees to play the course, but said “for the quality of the course we’re providing, we will certainly want it to be a good value.”
  • The scenery will be key to the new course. Woods said a main focus for the golf course will be to get people off of their phones while also allowing them to enjoy the scenery of the course.
