New Berlin Eisenhower will head into a big battle tonight at home against Pewaukee, with first place in the Woodland West on the line.

Earlier this month, the team came together to support senior Jaron Radish, whose father passed away suddenly. Andrew Gruman has a great story about how the Lions have embraced their teammate and his younger brothers in the wake.

Elsewhere in the state, it could be a huge night for the Kimberly football team, which can defeat Wausau West to tie the state record of 47 consecutive victories. West won't be favored, but it did upset Appleton North a couple weeks ago, and Kimberly subsequently worked past North to pull within a game of the record.

Kimberly, of course, won the 2014 and 2015 state-championship games over Arrowhead in Division 1. The Papermakers also won the D2 state title in 2013. The last team to defeat Kimberly? Arrowhead, in Level 3 of the D1 playoffs by a 31-7 score, in 2012. The Warhawks went on to win the state title that year and the year after.
