Brutus the Buckeye, Ohio State's mascot, is lifted into the air by Ohio State fans after thousands of them swarmed the field celebrating their team's win in two overtimes, 30-27, over Michigan at Ohio Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 26, 2016.

What players and coaches said after Michigan's 30-27 loss to Ohio State:

Ohio State coach Urban Meyer, after getting a phone call during the news conference from his wife: “She said bring a gallon of milk home.”

Michigan QB Wilton Speight, on fumbling a snap: “I think there was a little miscommunication with the crowd noise. I should have stayed in there a little longer, knowing that there might be problems with how loud it was. Yeah, that’s on me.”

Meyer, on being part of this game: “It’s awesome. I’ve said that many, many times. I’m very humbled to be a part of it. And you can’t ask for better efforts. They have great players, we have great players. They’re a very well-coached team and so are we. And it’s good for the county to see the Big Ten in action like that.”

Meyer, on if he thought OSU had got enough on the controversial spot in double OT: “Yeah, I was standing right there. I thought we had it.”

Meyer, on this game as part of the rivalry: “That is one of the classic games of this rivalry that will forever be, because I know this rivalry as well as anybody. That game is right in there. I’m not saying it’s the greatest, because that’s disrespectful for the other players that have played in it. But that’s an instant classic between two great teams. We knew going in it was going to be that way. That’s one of the best defenses we’ve ever gone against.”

Ohio State quarterback J.T. Barrett: “Been a part of some crazy football games here. That one was No. 1.”

Barrett, on the realization that his team just beat Michigan: “I didn’t do a lot of thinking, honestly. I just looked around and, man, that just happened.”
