Cubs outfielder denies flipping off Donald Trump

The Chicago Cubs visited the White House for the second time since winning the 2016 World Series. This time, they met with Donald Trump and presented the 45th U.S. president with a Cubs jersey at the casual ceremony.

But one moment left fans on Twitter buzzing about Cubs outfielder Albert Almora Jr.

A photo that circulated on Twitter Wednesday looked to show Almora subtly flipping off Trump from outside his pocket, but that really wasn't the case.

It turned out that the Cubs also took notice to the the photo.

When reporters gathered around Almora in the clubhouse, a player yelled, according to CSN Chicago, "There was two fingers! Look closely, there was two fingers!"

Almora did admit that his teammates gave him a tough time about the photo.

Via CSN:

"Guys were giving me a hard time about it," Almora said, "but I pointed out the second finger. We're all good."

He continued:

"Obviously, it's unfortunate," Almora said with a laugh. "I'm getting ready to take a picture and I'm posing there. But you guys know that I would never do that to the president of the United States.

"I respect everybody. It is what it is. We laugh about it now, but there's definitely two fingers out there."

Almora was part of the group that traveled to the White House to meet then-President Barack Obama in January. But he was right, there was definitely two fingers.

He'll keep his hand in his pocket next time, though.
