On Nov. 29, the Lake Country Lutheran girls basketball team lost to Living Word Lutheran, 60-53. LCL struggled in the first half but scored 35 second-half points to push Living Word.

Freshman Kate Benes finished with 27 points, made all six of her free throw attempts, and hit three 3-point shots. Olivia Stoppenbach scored 10 points for LCL. The Lightning made 12 of 17 free-throw attempts and five threes.

LCL is 0-2 overall this season and 0-1 in the Midwest Classic Conference.

ULS boys win first game

The University Lake School/Trinity boys basketball team beat Tenor/Veritas on Nov. 29, 44-37. ULS improved to 1-1 on the season.

Onix Roige led the Lakers with 13 points. Chris Durham contributed 12 points. Owen Fitzpatrick-Meyers, Durham and Roige all made 3-point shots in the game.
