Longtime Pewaukee boys soccer coach Randy Staus has resigned from his position, effective immediately.
Staus has been the head boys soccer coach at PHS for the last 20 years. In that span, he turned the program into one the winningest in the state.
Athletic director John Maltsch made the announcement on Feb. 22.
"With his oldest boy entering high school next year, he wants to spend more time with his family," Pewaukee athletics director John Maltsch said. "We would like to thank Coach Staus for 20 years of dedicated service to Pewaukee High School Soccer and bringing the program to where it is today, one of the best in Wisconsin."
Staus also served as head girls coach for several seasons at Pewaukee.
The Pirates boys made the state tournament in 2008, 2012 and 2013. They have won five of the past seven Woodland Conference championships.
