In her final Classic 8 Conference swimming dual meet, Mukwonago senior Kennedy Tranel finished in style with wins in the 200-yard individual medley and 500 freestyle as Waukesha South/Mukwonago easily brought down Waukesha West/Catholic Memorial on Oct. 13, 127-56.
Tranel, an Iowa State recruit, also served on the winning medley and 400-free relay teams on Senior Night.
The Blackshirts dominated the meet, winning all but one event. Lauren Szolyga won the 100 free and backstroke, Kaitie Scanlan won the 200 free and breaststroke and Alyzza Cruz took the butterfly. Mikala Leppala added a win in the 50 free after joining Szolyga, Tranel and Mukwonago's Meghan Jagdfeld on the winning medley relay.
Tranel, Cruz, Scanlan and Taylor Short won the 400 free relay to close the meet.
Another Mukwonago senior, Emma Baertlein, took second with her team in the medley relay, second in the butterfly and second in the backstroke.
Now comes the fun part. Waukesha South will host the Classic 8 Conference meet Saturday, with diving beginning at 9:30 a.m. and swimming at 2 p.m., and the swimmers will be right back at South for the sectional Saturday, Nov. 5.
