Denny Hamlin signs contract extension to remain at Joe Gibbs Racing

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Denny Hamlin’s long-anticipated contract extension to remain at Joe Gibbs Racing is official, the team announced on Thursday, with sponsor FedEx also to remain in the fold as the primary sponsor of the No. 11 Toyota.

Hamlin, 36, has 29 career wins in 398 starts at NASCAR’s top level over 14 seasons, finishing third in twice and runner-up in points in 2010. He enters Speed Weeks as the defending Daytona 500 winner.

Hamlin was entering the season on the final season of a four-year contract extension signed in 2012. He would not characterize the length of the deal but said ““I’ll be much grayer” at its conclusion.
