Ricky Stenhouse said he was all-in on the April Fool's Day prank girlfriend and fellow driver Danica Patrick pulled on social media.

FORT WORTH, Texas – Ricky Stenhouse Jr. already knew how interested NASCAR fandom was in his five-year relationship with fellow driver Danica Patrick. He was reminded on April Fool’s Day, when Patrick Instagrammed a picture of the couple kissing, with her wearing what looked very much like an engagement ring.

Social media fell head over heels.

Patrick captioned the photo "Well...."

She followed up the next day with a post that read: "Just swinging and thinking about how good I got you all on April fools....", accompanied by a picture of a swing in the woods.

“I was out in the woods working after Martinsville practice and she said, ‘Hey, its April Fool’s, I want to send something out and I’ve got this idea.’ She said, ‘Are you in?’,” Stenhouse recalled on Saturday at Texas Motor Speedway. ‘I was like, ‘Yeah, I guess so. Let’s do it.’

“So then I was on the phone talking to somebody for about 30 minutes, 40 minutes and then my phone kept going off and I wasn’t real sure why it kept going off and I forgot that she had sent that out. Then I realized real quick what it was all about. It was funny.”
