Alabama-Florida State football game already sold out

Alabama coach Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide face Florida State on Sept. 2, but the game is already sold out.

The highly anticipated college football season opener between Alabama and Florida State is already sold out, Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game ticket offices announced on Friday. The Sept. 2 game is being played at Atlanta’s new 75,000-seat Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Based on StubHub ticket prices, Alabama-Florida State upper-deck tickets are ranging between $400 and $500, which means the game is poised to be the second-most-expensive ticket for the 2017 season, with Georgia-Notre Dame tickets running for $545 apiece.

The Week 1 showdown between the powerhouse programs won’t lack any buzz, pitting the nation’s likely top two teams against each other.

“Florida State has a great team and a great program and will probably be No. 1 in the country,” Alabama coach Nick Saban said in May about the Seminoles, even though his Crimson Tide will likely be the preseason No. 1 in most polls.

Bama welcomes another class of five-star freshmen and now has an experienced quarterback and Heisman candidate in Jalen Hurts.
