PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

Offense

Max Duchow, Kettle Moraine: The Lasers' attack has turned heads during the first two weeks, first with its 35-point performance in a loss to Oconomowoc and Friday with a 49-35 victory on the road over Wisconsin Little Ten contender Watertown. Duchow, a senior quarterback, completed 15 of 21 passes for 305 yards and four touchdowns and ran for a team-high 90 yards with a touchdown in 14 carries.

Defense

Raekwon Bradford, Milwaukee Washington: After a rough Week 1, the Purgolders bounced back Friday with a 36-6 victory over Milwaukee Career and Technical Education at Custer Stadium. The 5-9, 198-pound nose tackle was active, posting nine tackles and four sacks as the Purgolders held the Cougars to 249 total yards.

Special teams

Ezekiel Banks, Greenfield: Teams might start thinking about kicking away from the senior running back. He returned two kickoffs for touchdowns in the Hawks’ 62-18 victory over Pius XI on Thursday at home. The 5-10, 160-pound back opened the game with an 85-yard return for a score and closed the contest with an 87-yard return for a touchdown in the fourth quarter. That’s 172 return yards on two touches for the 2015 all-conference selection.

TEAMS OF THE WEEK

New Berlin West: The Vikings scored their first victory of the season in dramatic fashion Friday, driving 83 yards in 15 plays before scoring a last-second touchdown that secured a 36-34 victory over Milwaukee Lutheran at home. Senior Nate Egofske’s pass to senior Bryan Boyd from 1-yard out was the game-winner, but the victory was set up by a big night from senior running back Max Meleski. He gained 209 yards on 28 carries and scored the team’s other four touchdowns. Sophomore Nicholas Paget also was active, catching 11 passes for 108 yards. The 1-1 start equals the team’s best since 2012.

Sussex Hamilton: The Chargers are 2-0 for the first time in four years following a 28-24 victory over Cedarburg on the road that was capped by a 58-yard touchdown pass from senior Jordan Smith to sophomore Jackson Kollath with 14 seconds left. The play swung the contest in Hamilton’s favor after Cedarburg scored twice in the fourth quarter to take the lead. The play was one of a handful of big ones for the 6-1, 193-pound Kollath. He scored on runs of 56 and 49 yards in the third quarter. The Chargers' other touchdown came from senior Nick Mirasola (14 carries, 127 yards) on a 29-yard second-quarter run.

Greenfield's Ezekiel Banks finished with 172 return yards against Pius XI Thursday
